Product Description: Handsome Guy Madison portrays a cowboy portrays an American cowboy living in Mexico trying to find out what has been happening to his cattle. Little does he suspect that the local legend about the beast of hollow mountain is true! A Tyrannosaurus Rex has been munching on the herd. This rare stop-motion epic combines the genres of Western and Giant Monster. Based on a story by Willis O'Brien of King Kong fame.

This is a terrible dub of the film, with pixilation problems about one hour in, which intensify toward the end. At times, the screen jumps terribly from image to image. I have no idea who put this out (the cover, which is rushed and amateurish, says "Studio: PRS" - probably the person's initials who took it from the laserdisc release). The only reason I give it 2 stars is the intro, which has some great 50s and 60s snack bar commercials for drive-ins. These were a blast to see again, but you ... Read More

I'm also one who has fond memories of this film from my childhood. The mere promise of the dinosaur was enough to keep me glued to the screen for the hour of standard western story before it shows up--and I wasn't disappointed. Now, I could live with it being a bootleg copy. What I can't live with is that it's a bad bootleg copy. The ... Read More

This was a favorite monster movie of mine as a kid. It's a weird monster western with a very memorable ending. The stop motion effects aren't Harryhausen quality, but it's a neat little picture that should have a proper release! The ending is classic monster fun and this was a staple of Saturday afternoon monster mayhem on Creature Feature and many other horror hosted shows.

This is a very fun film to watch from the 1950s! The animation of the dinosaur is so primitive that it's good! Good quality DVD, too.

Not sure if this disc had a better source but it's more a question of $ or time.
It appears MGM or whichever studio has the negative these days has no interest in releasing this.
It's available for download at archive.org . If you have basic DSL the best quality file takes about 3 hours.
Those snack bar commercials mentioned in another review are also available there.
If you have the time to master your own version you can but for the price this DVD will ... Read More
