I am a South Indian Tamil Brahmin living in the US for the past 50 years and the opening scene is extremely typical of an academically oriented but culturally close Tamil Brahmins. I have never heard of Konkan Sen Sharma and originally I thought Meenakshi was a Tamil Brahmin actress.
