Kitchen & Housewares - Oxo Good Grips Flexible Vegetable Brush
|
Rating: -
This little brush was just the right size to fit in the palm of my hand and the bristles were strong enough to clean a potato but gentle enough to clean fruit.

The ergonomics are great. It's rigid, but has a slightly rubberized, uniform grip.
I do feel that the bristles are a bit soft, but that's ok. I use this a lot for mushrooms and tomatoes, which are fairly soft to begin with. In most cases, I peel or remove the skin from tubers. However, I like to cook my potatoes with the skin on. This brush doesn't do the best job on hard, low-starch, waxy potatoes (small red potato, white fingerling) that you'd use for potato salads, for example.
It's very easy to clean and survives the dishwasher (for 2 months so far at least).

I am sure I would have been happy with the products, but when amazon can't ship to my correct address then I can't receive them and use them and review them for you. After over one month and with only a rude responce from amazon I still have not received my refund. Shame on amazon, rating 0 on scale of 0 to 10! I bet amazon will not publish this review.

I had just about given up on cooking potatoes with the skin left on because I couldn't for the life of me seem to get them clean enough to get rid of that nasty dirt flavor.
Ahhhhh. This little brush works wonders. I glad I happened across it and got it. When you are cleaning the tater you can see the difference between an uncleaned spot and a clean spot. The brush is large enough to make even big spuds quick work.
I'm 6 foot tall and have about average to large hands and the brush is just the right size. If your hands are bigger the brush should still be perfect. If you are petite and have really small hands you may want to get a brush with a handle.

I have used this vegetable brush for just over a year, and it still looks brand new. The bristles have not bent or fallen out. It fits into the hand nicely, and is easy to use. The bristles are stiff enough to take care of business, but not so stiff that they rip up the skins on the vegetables. Because the bristles are not harsh, I also use the brush on my hands to clean off ground-in dirt or paint. Best of all, I can pop it into the dishwasher and restore it to germ-free cleanliness. I am very satisfied with this product.
