Books - Animals on the Other Side

Having bought five other Sylvia Browne books/cds in the past, I was quite interested in this book since I am a total animal lover, and I currently have a few cats and had one that might have already returned to The Other Side. This book is incredible underwritten as far as information is concerned. It's mostly simple drawings of landscapes and animals on The Other Side, and there's a small paragraph that describe the way the animals live and behave in every page. It took minutes to finish reading this book. If this book was as detailed as her others like Life On The Other Side or Past Lives, Future Healings, then it's more worthed the hardcover price. Nontheless, this book is ideal for children to read. It still made me feel a sense of relief that all my the pets I have had will be there waiting for me the minute I arrived Home again.

I have always been a fan of Sylvia Browne and have most of her books. I am rather disappointed in the deception in the promotion of this book. I have seen numerous plugs on the Montel Williams show about the forthcoming book. Never once did anyone say it would be a good read for a 3 year old. This book is obviviously written for children who have lost their pets. I literally read the book in less than 5 minutes. You could condense all topic content in one short paragraph. I have waited for 4 months to read this book since hearing about it and after enduring the loss on my beloved Shih Tzu. I was not expecting to be deceived.

To begin with,"death" is a lie. The only thing that "dies" is our physical bodies. Just because our pets are at a different level of vibration, does not mean that they don't have a spirit. Sure its different that the human soul, but it is also a creation of God and is not extinguished upon its physical death. Sorry if this rattles
some religious convictions, but the truth is the truth. How arrogant to think that we are the only living beings to survive physical death! My dogs still come around, the bond of love doesn't stop existing just because the spirit has elevated to a higher plane.

I found fascinating the smear campaign that has been obviously placed by some very fear based individuals. Though I believe the book could have been written in a more literary fashion, I do understand the reasoning behind writing it in a style that conveys the message with clarity.
I have never met nor have dealings on any level with Sylvia Browne or those affiliated with her. This review comes without bias. I do not have a religious agenda and I am not trying to spread the fear based rhetoric that has been placed within these reviews. After all, it is just as easy to follow up on the agendas and locations of those who have "anonymously" left their reviews on a book that they have clearly not read to its entirety; for if they had, then they would have seen that the message is simple and harmless unless it shakes their own faith into adjustment.
Does not the bible say in the ten commandments to "not to bare false witness against your fellow man?" Although this could be interpreted to only apply to those who share the same religious and cultural beliefs.
In any event, this book was refreshing and an easy read. The message will continue to exist in this world becouse it is truth and it comes from love. Why else would it come under attack from those whose love and beliefs have conditions? Perhaps it is because it rattles their very belief system that it so fragile, that they must try to convince strangers that this book is questionable at best. I pray that the rafter from their eyes has been removed before they focus on the straw in these authors eyes. Where did that thought come from? The bible of course, and it was Jesus' own words.

Kids everywhere have wanted to know what happens to their beloved pets after death. Well apparent psychic Sylvia Browne has capitalized on this sad, confused feeling that former pet owners may feel. The result is a little book called Animals on the Other Side. At first, upon hearing about this book and what it was about, I thought it would be a nice little story about animals in heaven,(I'd never heard of Sylvia Browne before, being a teen)ut I was wrong. This woman actually thinks people will believe she can see heaven through the eyes of animals. C'mon, even children aren't that gullible!
If you do happen the buy Animals on the Other Side, I would recommend warning your children that this is only a story and may or may not be true. It could still be comforting and yet the child would know this book doesn't exactly speak a truth about their pet.
I'll hand it to the author(my mom's a fan). Writting a book like this would be sure to bring in big bucks.
As always, R, your friendly neighborhood reviewer.
