Books - Planets in Transit: Life Cycles for Living

The best on transits there is! Couldn't live without it! I use it myself and recommend it to all my students.

Astrology is a dead end. It has produced nothing but heartache for our family. I cannot recommend the book to anyone. The notion that the stars control/affect us only has as much power over anyone as he or she allows it to have. Before reading this book ask yourself two questions: 1) would I rather have my life be dependent upon the man who wrote this book or The Maker of this man? and 2) Would I like to wait for "the heavens" to tell me what to do or would I rather be worshipping The Maker of said heavens? It's easy to pass off the bad circumstances in our lives becaue "Mercury is in retrograde" or "it's a month before your birthday" or "all things happen in threes" instead of looking at the responsibility we have to change our circumstances and live up to our mistakes. This book does not reform behavior, instead it condones any amount of carrying on because, after all, the world is set on its own course and there's not much that can be done....ridiculous. If you want to base your life on superstition then this is the book for you. BUt if you're looking for Truth, try Jesus Christ.

Robert Hand's talent is making something radically new seem familiar and usable by the beginner.
When I first read this book, I was an intermediate level astrologer looking to expand my skills in the reading of client relationships. At the time of its first publication, Planets in Composite was all that was available on Composites, so I was grateful for its existence.
Now, after thirty-five years as a professional astrologer, I still pick it up when I need to jog my memory about a particular aspect, or house position. It's the best cookbook around on the "purpose" of a relationship.

I bought this book when it first came out in 1976, and I still recommend it to clients and students. The psychological and humanistic insights are without parallel in a transit book.

Many years have passed since this book was published, but there is still none better on the market for helping people to understand astrological cycles.
