Rating: - 9 yrs of counseling and 8 yrs of marriage
As the title of my review states, my wife and I have been in counseling for longer than we've been married. May sound like we should have split before marriage, but we didn't. The first 7 yrs consisted of finger pointing and we visited about 5 counselors. We finally met one who started us on a path to looking inward for the sources of our issues. We picked up "The Four Agreements", which I highly recommend, and it helped in an individual sense. We've been in group counseling for about 18 months, she in hers and me in mine. It wasn't until I found this book that I was able to turn my marriage around on my own. My wife started feeling anxious because she was thinking "when is he going to revert back to the old jerk?" She was developing feelings for me solely based on the changes I made which I learned from this book. The things I learned are essentially the ideals I was not shown while I was growing up. What is in this book are things one should live by. In addition to helping in your marriage this book can help in non-marital relationships if applied appropriately. My wife is yet to read "Light His Fire" but I can only imagine what our marriage will be like when and if she reads it.

Great book. You have to read it with a thought of how to apply it to your situation. Can't skim it. After reading this book, I found a woman who fell in love with me, to some part thanks to this book, and we've been married for 4 years.

While this book is informative, it refreshes the natural instinct that we need to pay attention to in a relationship. The copy I received was yellowed and worn.

This is the companion to LITE HIS FIRE by the same author. This information is also on CD as well as this book. The ideas are VERY useful! Please do NOT pass this up. Just think how much marriage counselling and, worse yet, a divorce would cost! This is a bargain. And the information is GOOD! boland7214@aol

I bought this book because my boyfriend is clueless. I thought I had a better chance of communicating some important needs if I read a book that was written for men. Page 70 alone was worth the purchase. enjoy
