This movie has been one of my favorites ever since it came out. John Belushi at his best. This is an extremely funny movie. The 'making of' movie was interesting to watch. If you went to college, you will recognize most of the characters in the movie.

This rating is for the presentation only, not the film! What do you get for the extra $$$? A box that will sit on your shelf, a softcover booklet with some weak humor, and the movie in a regular snap-case that will find its way into your regular DVD collection(sans oversize box).
What could have they done better? Publish the booklet as a mini- hardcover, included some liner notes/essays,vintage ads or reviews, included the CD soundtrack, a shotglass, postcards or some other kind of merch.

I won't go into what this movie is about. If you are not familiar with Animal House yet, then shame on you. What I will say is this edition, the "30th Anniversary Edition Gift Set" version does not have any of the ads or commercials that reviewers of other versions are complaining about. I have not seen the 30th Anniversary non-Gift Set version, so I can't say if it has ads or not, but it may be worth the extra 10 bucks or so to get an ad-free Gift Set.

*This gift set also includes a neat yearbook-style booklet and a huge glossy box. The box is actually a little too big for the movie and the booklet, but die-hard fans will get a kick out of it. I intend ... Read More

Even if you think it's wrong, to extort money from fans,
as the proprietors of Amazon might say,
They've got big responsibilities.
Preordering DVD's and storing them is very expensive.
They are using their warehouses, their security, their forklifts...
So if you mention extortion again,
they will have your legs broken.
