This was some of the best stuff for this genre, not only was there plenty of action, but it also had some comedy. The animation was excellent, the fight scenes were extremely good, and I liked many parts of it. This series was fast paced and action packed, Aika is training to be a treasure hunter and takes on her first job. The job was great and she shown no fear, even against an onslaught of drugged girls. Very fun little OVA with tons of fanservice, but that's Aika's style. The story could have been put together a little better, but it's Aika through and through. The extra features aren't great, but it's a still worthwile package.

If you were a fan of the origional Aika series, then this is an absolute must-buy. Instead of going for the typical sequel route, the director decided on a prequel of sorts. In fact, Aika R-16 takes place 10 years prior to her last adventure.
