Editorial Review:
Album Description: 2007 release from this duo of powerful Metal vocalists, the sequel to their 2005 album The Battle. Russell Allen is the singer of the American Progressive Metal band Symphony X,. Highly rated ex-Masterplan vocalist Jorn Lande has a vocal capability that is world class, distinctive, rich and spanning a large range. As on The Battle, the songs were written by guitar sensation Magnus Karlsson (Startbreaker, Lal Tribe), Heavier and with a tighter production, thanks to the involvement of Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69, Angra, Place Vendome) at the mix, this album will excite the many fans who loved the first chapter and everyone who declares themselves fan of quality Hard Rock or Metal. Frontiers Records. 2007.

By chance I heard one of the songs from this CD on internet radio, & thought to pick up the CD. WOW! I am glad I did. This CD is one of the best CDs I have heard in years. It deserves much more acclaim than it has recieved. If you want a CD that you will enjoy every track, pick this one up!

You can't really classify Allen/Lande in any one category. It's just damn good music. I've spread this around along with The Battle around my work and everyone just comes back and goes "this is amazing!" which I heartily agree. I won't go into detail about every song, because they are all good. Like most people on this site, I listen to a wide variety of metal from Dimmu to Dokken and these two singers are just releasing some fantastic material. I'm hoping for one more...

In my original review of "The Battle" I explained that, while I liked it, I could only give it 4 stars because I found it very derivative, very "been there, done, that". It reminded me a LOT of what Yngwie Malmsteen was doing 25 years ago and even had shades all the way back to what Richie Blackmore was doing 30-35 years ago. And nothing that "old" deserved 5 stars, no matter how good you might think it is.
Well I'm here to tell you that, since last summer, The Battle has grown on me ... Read More

Well, he's done it again. Another brilliant album by the outstanding Magnus Karlsson. He has written a bunch of excellent songs with interesting parts and amazing solos and topped it off with some powerhouse singing from two of the greats. Russell Allen and Jorn Lande succeed again as the singing duo from rock heaven, both giving great performances throughout. Very good production from PC69's Dennis Ward rounds out this project and gives it the polished touch needed to make it sound epic. Definitely ... Read More

The talented group of musicians on the project makes me wonder what the heck happened? I'm crazy about Lande, and Magnus Karlsson is the new boy wonder in the guitar arena as far as I'm concerned. But rather than part two, I think its part re-do. The tone, and stylings of the record are so close to the first that my first impression was "hmmm, shoot", then the lyrics start lumbering through the melodies in and agonizing attempt to deliver relational complexities, only to anihilate any chance of a ...
