I found that one to make good coffee, and it kept the coffee hot for four hours on the hotplate, but it was such a hassle to clean. Then I read about the burr grinder, and how people were saying that it gives more of a coffee shop flavor to fresh ground coffee. Our original Cuisinart Grind and Brew finally bit the dust. We read all of the reviews and decided to try the Krups as a replacement. It is a really nice idea, the basket swings out for the coffee grounds to be funneled in, then swings back to brew, keeping all of the moisture out of the grinder (main problem with the old Cuisinart). Unfortunately the counter gets a spray of grounds as well. True, this isn't a big deal, not hard to clean up, but who needs more mess on their counter? Another month and they sent a second replacement which was fine for 3 months and the heater went out.
