The machine did not work right out of the box -- the motor was faulty and did not operate. The good thing is that Amazon.com made it easy to return and get a refund so that I could get her something else. Please remember that you only have 30 days to return. I have sometimes purchased presents months in advance, but I will be leery about doing so in the future for mechanical items. Rating: - Best juicer I've owned I have bought 3 juicers in the past, paying up to $300 for the most expensive. They all left juice in the pulp. This is the first one that literally left sawdust for pulp. I have only used it a few times, but so far it has been fantastic. I am very happy with it's performance.
