This fine effort from Herb Alpert (who's actually Jewish, as the booklet describes) Has many of his biggest hits; including Zorba The Greek [you can just picture Alan Bates and Anthony Quinn, can you?] brings to mind bullfights, and fiestas. Along with his other cds, South Of The Border, Whipped Creme And Other Delights, and The Lonely Bull, they provide a sound often imitated, but never duplicated. Great.

I am repeating this story you are about to read as it gives an explanation of why I love this music so much! "Going Places" has many songs on it used on the ride you are about to read about. Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass put out yet another great album when they released Going Places. This album contains 12 tracks full of pep and vitality that'll make you want to jump up and dance and then beg for more!
The CD starts off with "Tijuana Taxi." This familiar theme features the horns and percussion doing a great job of carrying the bulk of the musical arrangement. The peppy feel of "Tijuana Taxi" sets the tone for a very enjoyable album with lots more to come.
