I would recommend this product for anyone wishing to powder their home-grown herbs. Rating: - Not a great option for spice grinding I received this product as a gift, as the salesperson promised that it would work great for grinding spices. It doesn't. Uneven grinding, not catching some of the spices that sit on the bottom, and others spray to the top of the cover where the blades cannot reach, and if you have to use it for longer periods of time it heats up and blanches the flavor out of the spices. Read More Rating: - Excellent Grinder I owned a Krups coffee grinder before and it lasted 12 years. The GX4100 is a step up from my old one in style. This new one does a wonderful job of grinding. Please be aware that if you grind cloves in it, the plastic top will turn opaque and you will no longer be able to see what is being ground anymore.
