By far the weirdest season of SATC, but still good. It isn't at all what you find in season 6 but the essence of all the girls is there. The first season is more about Carrie doing research for her column by interviewing people and talking straight to the camera. The series definitely gets much better with passing seasons. Recently, I have been reading the original articles from the Observer to see how this show came about. The first season is quite a good translation of ideas from Bushnell's articles into parts of each episode. The "interview" portions where people look directly into the camera and comment on the episode's topic is very much like Bushnell's journalistic questioning.
