Editorial Review:
Product Description: In this paradigm-shattering book, the author of Women Who Love Too Much describes for readers what years of intense study, reflection, and attention to subtle energies have taught her about the meaning--and the gifts--of adversity. Norwood comforts readers with stories of others who have suffered, stories that reassure them that they are not alone.

I originally bought and read this book in the mid-1990s, after the first printing. It opened up my mind so much that I have to say it changed my life. I immediately lent it to a friend who was having similar difficulties in her life, and I have not seen the book since. I bought another copy now that the new edition is out, and in the seven or eight years it has been since the first reading I have studied similar ideas extensively; the book is still good but not as deep as I originally thought ... This book is NOT for everyone. That is not to say that it shouldn't be. Simply put, you have to be at a point in your life where spirtually you are ready to grow, to give up the trappings of society and the idea that anyone or anything you can buy will ever truly make you happy. If you are at this stage everything in this book will be like a drink of water to a man dying of thirst. If you are not at this point in your life, this book will seem to be a confused, new-aged, new-wave unpractical ... Read More

Yet the author makes little effort to explain these concepts or to provide evidence that could convince the reader. If you do not understand and believe in these ideas before reading this book you probably will not get much out of it. I know I did not. Putting aside the issue of prior beliefs, the author's arguments were not always well supported and ... Read More

I have read numerous 'New Age' books (some hokey, some helpful) and I must say this was the best. Robin Norwood's knowledge and wisdom radaite from the pages! The case histories are quite rich and make the book a real page-turner. It helped me understand how my life's events fit into a bigger picture and resolved the nagging question, "Why did this happen to me?".

This is a compelling book for one who has shied away from psychic phenomena throughout life. My grandfather was a medium. Using his abilities strictly as "entertainment" for small groups, he began experiencing frightening episodes after each time he performed his craft. Eventually he abandoned the practice altogether. Convinced it was "Satan's" work, he vowed not to delve further into such things and forbad his children to do so. Norwood, however, introduces a whole new aspect of psychic ... Read More
