this book was pretty shallow, but it wasn't quite as terrible as the other reviews suggest. the story and art aren't particularly great, but they're not painfully bad either. basically colossus finds out who his ancestors were and so a lot of the story ends up being a fairly tepid account of what was going on in russia a hundred years ago. in the present we see the return of a stock x-men villain (who some people will love seeing in any comic) and a character who was supposedly deceased (and it's ... This series needlessly complicates the history of the lead character to an embarrassing degree. The plot is convuluted at best and silly at worst; this is definitely not a book for anyone new to the X-Men or Colossus. While I had high hopes for the art based on the penciller's past performance, it comes off as amateurish. After reading this book, your mind will be buzzing with `why' questions. Why did Marvel greenlight this project? Why was this `fanfiction' published and my/my little brother's wasn't? Why the heck did I buy this? And most importantly, a `what' question. What the heck were the creators thinking?
