This book is not anywhere as good as the others she has written. It doesn't flow or make much sense. The transitions are very poor and it feels like something that was slapped together with out much thought.

From my point of view It is the same as the "if you give a..." series and if you have read one you read them all, but if you love cute kitties, cupcakes and sprinkles then this is the one to get. My 2-1/2 year old son LOVES this book and my daughter and myself read it to him a few times everyday! We think this is the cutest one in the series.

Like the pig who gets a pancake, and the moose who gets the cookie, the cat who gets a cupcake leads their owner on a frenetic trip to the kitchen, beach, and museum. My daughter loves this series so she got this on the first day it came out. She likes it but I find it to be slightly tedious. Mouse Cookie and Pig Pancake were much catchier and had a better flow. I feel this is just a feeble attempt to cash in on the series. I gave it 4 stars because my daughter enjoyed it but I wish I would've rented it from the library instead of buying it. It's one story she doesn't return to.

When I was a child, one of my favorite little books was "If you gave a mouse a cookie...." To this day, I still have that book intact and in great condition. Kids will love this book. It's fun to read with little ones, and brings back memories. I actually purchased this for the Amazon Toy Drive for the Today Show, and I hope some child gets to enjoy this book as much as I did.
